Waveland Golf Course is certainly one of Iowa’s most unique courses—known for its parkland-style build and refreshingly close proximity to the heart of Des Moines (allowing even the weariest of travelers to stop by and tee off at a couple of holes). The course also boasts plenty of tree-lined fairways, so it’s the prime spot to really sharpen your putt. This 18-hole course is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily for tee time.
Fee: $27 for 18-hole or $20 for nine, Monday to Friday. Rates start at $20 on weekends and holidays. Discounts are available for seniors and active military.
