April 18: North Iowa Green Expo and Market 2024

This green event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. at Surf Ballroom and feature a variety of local food vendors to sample organic fare, workshops covering smart homes, solar panels, organic wellness, sustainable services and more innovative subjects to help guests reduce their carbon footprint and make a positive impact on the environment.

April 19: City Manager’s 1-Bag Challenge Community Event

Join the City of Cedar Rapids this Earth Day in Iowa as it gathers the community to clean up Daniels Park Pavilion. This event will take place at noon, where participants will help the city clean up one bag of litter throughout the park. Snacks, water, safety vests and kits will be provided to each volunteer. Participating in this green initiative is the perfect way to make a difference in Iowa’s community and protect the planet for future generations.

April 20: Clear Lake Earth Day Youth Mile, 5K & 10K Races

Clear Lake

Kicking off race season in Iowa, Clear Lake Earth Day Youth Mile, 5K & 10K Races, will take place at Clear Lake City Park starting at 8:30 a.m. This green race will feature a youth mile at 8:30 a.m. and an adult 5K and 10K at 9 a.m. This exciting Earth Day event will take runners around the beautiful city park, with prizes awarded to top finishers 13 and under. The run is a great way to get moving and show your commitment to a healthier planet. 
Cost: $15 for youth mile; $35 for 5K and 10K.
