How did your love story begin? Christina: We met in 2003, waiting tables together at the Ground Round in Iowa City. I just couldn’t resist those spin moves in the server aisle with his hands full of side salads. Mitch: Rolling silverware at the Ground Round in Iowa city. She was fun and adorable and had a great sense of humor. It didn’t take long to develop a crush on her.
Favorite thing about one another: Christina: I love his ability to tackle any problem. He just figures out how to do it, no matter what it is. I love his calming presence. He can always make me stop and think rationally. I also love the way he parents our kiddos. Mitch: It started with her big brown eyes but quickly became her wit, thoughtfulness and empathy. We make a good team and balance each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Also, she’s an amazing mother!
Favorite date night: Christina: We don’t get much of those lately with two littles so my answer right now would be getting through an entire movie and eating a plate full of cheese and good bread. Mitch: What’s that? It is honestly more like a date lunch/meeting recently. Young kids and running a couple of businesses doesn’t leave a lot of spare time.
Favorite tradition you have as a couple: Christina: Traveling, anywhere, together or with friends and family. Mitch: We really learned about each other while traveling, and it’s still my favorite thing to do with her. I’m really looking forward to traveling with our kids as they get older.
What does your happily ever after look like? Christina: To spend as much quality time as possible with our kids. I hope we’re able to introduce them to things we love, especially exploring new places. Mitch: Living a happy and healthy life with our kids, watching them grow and growing along with them.
