With the return of spring comes an abundance of blooming flowers, picnics and, best of all, Easter celebrations galore. Here’s where you can celebrate Easter in Iowa this year.
Enjoy good, old-fashioned Easter fun at Prairie Patch Farm for its annual Easter Llama & His Peeps celebration. Attendees can get unique spring photos with Easter Llama and feed the “Goat Bunnies” too. Families can visit any time from March 28 through April 3.
Atlantic Rising along with Atlantic Parks and Recreation and Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling will be hosting the “Hoppy Easter” celebration. The Hoppy Easter event is being held along with the Atlantic Parks and Recreation’s second annual Easter Egg Cruise. The cruise includes decorated wooden eggs that will be set up around Sunnyside Park on Easter weekend. On Saturday, April 3, visitors will be able to drive through Sunnyside Park to see all the eggs and vote for their favorite.
Hop by the Linn County Fair Ground Easter Egg Hunt for some fun times on March 28 at noon. Bring the kids (up to 10 years old) and a canned good item. Each child will be able to hunt for Easter eggs and will get a prize at the end.
The Spring Celebration Market will be held the day before Easter, and the market will offer pre-order and drive-through options. The market will also celebrate spring via fresh produce, decadent local options and other seasonally-infused flavors that pay homage to the spirit of Atlantic.
Bloomsbury Farm will be hosting the Bunny Bash on March 27 and March 28 and April 2 to April 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The farm celebration will feature Easter-centric photo opportunities, food stands and special items in the gift shop. For the adults, Bloomsbury Farm is also hosting Boozin’ with the Bunny on March 27.
On Sunday, April 4, Blessed Hope Community Church will boast a welcoming atmosphere, coffee, doughnuts and an Easter-centric photo station via their holiday services.
Living History Farms’ Family Easter is full of traditional holiday activities with a small-town twist, and now the farm is inviting people to come and celebrate Easter on Saturday, April 3, via ongoing egg hunts, spring games, baby farm animals and more.
The GPS Egg Hunt will take place on Sunday, March 28, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Ewing Park. This unique egg hunt encourages participants to use a handheld GPS unit to find the location of eggs hidden all throughout the park. And for each correct location that they find, they will get to pick up a small prize to take home with them too.
