It’s time to get egg-cited thanks to Easter events in Iowa celebrating all things spring, sunshine and chocolate.

April 1, April 2 and April 8: Easterfest at Howell’s Greenhouse and Pumpkin Patch

For three exciting days of Easter activities for the entire family, be sure to visit Easterfest at Howell’s Greenhouse and Pumpkin Patch. Not only will there be photo ops with the Easter Bunny, one-of-a-kind bathtub train rides and a play yard for the little ones, but Howell’s will also supply its visitors with egg cartons before sending them off the most colorful Easter egg hunt imaginable. Plus, with crafts, scavenger hunts and balloon artists, there is no better spot for a unique Easter event in Iowa. Easterfest at Howell’s Greenhouse and Pumpkin Patch will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Spring has officially sprung at Bloomsbury Farm, and to rein in the season the famous Bloomsbury Bunny will be back in action at Bunny Bash. From an Easter egg hunt and festive photo ops to baby chicks, bunnies and ducklings, Bloomsbury Farm has you covered this Easter. Plus, the kids will also be entertained by barrel train rides, mini zip lines, giant slides, jumping pillows, mini golf and so much more throughout the never-ending farm. As for the adults, Glass Alley Beer Garden will be serving up gourmet drinks topped with marshmallow Peeps and confetti. In addition, plenty of coffee, ice cream, homemade doughnuts and other delicious dishes will also be available. Bunny Bash at Bloomsbury Farm will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This ever-so-popular Easter tradition is one that all Iowa residents must try at least once. The Great 80-Acre Easter Egg Hunt at Wilson’s Orchard & Farm is so expansive that it is broken up into four days and two-hour time slots, along with a roped-off area for egg hunters ages 3 and under. Additionally, this exciting event will also bring on the festive fun with wooden egg painting, tractor rides and Polaroid pictures with the Easter Bunny. The Great 80-Acre Easter Egg Hunt at Wilson’s Orchard & Farm will take place from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m.

Bring your camera and wear your pastels because the Easter Llama will be posing in style, ready to take some selfies with all of his peeps. April 8: Ted’s Easter Egg Hunt at Ted Lare Design Build & Garden Center

The perfect place to soak up the spring weather surrounded by lovely landscaping, Ted Lare Design Build & Garden Center is once again hosting its annual free Easter Egg hunt. There will be two hunts, one for children over the age of 8 and another for younger children, to guarantee that each child discovers plenty of Easter eggs. Aside from over 8,000 eggs filled with prizes and candy, guests can also feel even more festive thanks to Rainbow Ray Face Painting. Ted’s Easter Egg Hunt at Ted Lare Design Build & Garden Center will take place from 9 to 9:30 a.m., and face painting will continue until 11 a.m.

Flowers are in bloom at East Knoll Park and Easter is just around the corner, which also means that the Robins Civic Club & City of Robins Annual Easter Egg Hunt will once again cover the park with colorful Easter eggs. In addition to the free Easter egg hunt, guests can look forward to lots of fun prizes and a visit by the Easter Bunny himself. In order to arrive in style, the Easter Bunny will roll into East Knoll Park on a bright red Robins Firetruck. Robins Civic Club & City of Robins Annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place at 9:30 a.m.

April 9: Easter Egg Hunt at Summerset Winery

You may already know that Summerset Winery makes local, award-winning wine from grapes farmed in Central Iowa, but did you know that they also host an adorable annual Easter egg hunt throughout its vineyards? Make your Easter Sunday one to remember this year and visit Summerset Winery for an egg hunt for both the kiddos and the adults. There will also be face painting and balloon animals for the little ones and plenty of wine for the adults, all in a stunning springtime atmosphere, to round out this Easter event in Iowa. The Easter Egg Hunt at Summerset Winery will take place from noon to 1 p.m.
Cost: Admission is free but there are additional costs associated with face painting, balloon animals and wine.
