Hometown: Born in the Bay area but grew up in Italy for many years. Primarily through childhood and attended college in Rome for my first undergraduate degree. However, West Coast in general is “home.” My husband and I lived in San Diego for 12 years, most recently.
First job: First real job was in advertising. I worked at an advertising agency in Portland, Ore., and was on accounts such as Tillamook Cheese and Pendleton Whisky.
Favorite ways to spend your free time in IA: We are huge lovers of the outdoors. But having two little ones and moving to Iowa has slowed that down a bit. But we love to snowboard, snowmobile, camp and wake surf. Would love to know the best lakes in Iowa!
The biggest obstacle you overcame: Moving into a new home, managing new renters for our two properties, wrangling a toddler, working my regular job at the hospital, completing my first semester back to school after years and opening up my small business while nine months pregnant.
Someone who inspires you and why: My father. He provides great advice and is always an amazing listener. He is a hard worker and has a sound moral compass. I’ve always looked up to him.
Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Nursing has so many avenues! It is a career with endless opportunities. You are always able to reinvent yourself in the nursing field.

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: At first, I am very shy and it comes off as awkward or standoffish. But once we meet, I’m the world’s most open book!
