Flynn Mansion Dinner Series
March 30 @ 6:00 pm - April 1 @ 9:00 pm$80
For the ultimate high-in history and style dinner party, be sure to be an attendance at one of the Flynn Mansion Dinner Series dinners on Thursday, Friday or Saturday throughout the month of March.
A dinner party was an opportunity to demonstrate your wealth and financial sophistication in the 1870s. During this meal, guests will discover how Mrs. Ellen Flynn, the mansion’s mistress and a former domestic servant, may have tried to impress others in Des Moines society.
During the dinner, waiters dressed appropriately for the 1870s will serve you as you take a seat in the magnificent, antique dining room. As you savor delicacies prepared in the style of the time, your host will relate tales of Victorian entertainment. Then, taste some of the distinctive Victorian food staples as the kitchen crew offers explanations of the 19th-century menu options from bacon-wrapped dates and seasonal salad to roast pork loin. After dinner, guests can then explore the historic Italianate house. But make sure you’re on Mrs. Flynn’s guest list since this limited-edition historic dinner will only be offered in March this year.
Admission to the Flynn Mansion Dinner Series is available for $80 per person.
