Your biggest accomplishment and why: Every day is an opportunity to accomplish and celebrate. I have done many things I am proud of, but the accomplishment is not resting on yesterday, fully embracing today and preparing to do the same tomorrow.
The biggest obstacle you overcame: I am still overcoming the racism, bigotry and systems of oppression that drive the United States.
Someone who inspires you and why: Can’t pick one. My wife Jazzmine, sister Zhane and cousin Amber because they are all constantly pushing to be their best self, and they motivate me to be better.
Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Art: do it for yourself. Art is your opportunity to manifest and create. You are responsible and accountable to your creation. Educating and facilitating on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion topics: do it for your people. Do it how you can do it best, and do it for your people. You are responsible and accountable to them.
